BALI 4.6 “TEN” GETS READY TO CROSS THE ATLANTIC

Tenor Yachts, BALI Catamarans’ dealer in Hyères, is about to embark on a new adventure. This season, the BALI 4.6 “TEN”, after a wonderful summer in the Mediterranean, will soon set course for the Caribbean.

And this will be no ordinary crossing: the voyage will take place as part of a transatlantic sailing course organised by Philisa sailing school, part of the same group.

A BALI 4.6 READY FOR ADVENTURE

Launched at the beginning of the year, the BALI 4.6 “TEN” spent the summer cruising the Mediterranean, sailing from the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and Ajaccio.

Built for offshore sailing, the BALI 4.6 inspires confidence from the very first miles: a robust, stable and safe catamaran, designed to sail far and for extended periods while providing a reassuring sense of security on board.

The model perfectly embodies BALI’s DNA: space, comfort and autonomy. With its forward cockpit, aft sunbathing area and fully open, single-level deck layout, it offers outstanding comfort on board, even during long offshore passages.

AN EXPERIENCED SKIPPER AT THE HELM: PHILIPPE CORRE

The course will be led by experienced instructor Philippe Corre, who has twelve Atlantic crossings to his name — seven westbound and five eastbound.

Philippe combines the discipline of racing with the teaching skills required for bluewater sailing. With more than seven years of yacht-delivery experience, he will guide the trainees through every stage of the adventure, from sail trimming and night watches to weather analysis and managing everyday life on board.

PASSIONATE TRAINEES, TWO CREWS, ONE ADVENTURE

Two crews will take turns aboard “TEN”.

• First leg: five trainees will sail from Hyères to the Canary Islands, covering 1,400 nautical miles to experience life offshore and become fully immersed in the rhythm of ocean sailing.
• Second leg: six new crew members will take over for the Atlantic crossing to the Caribbean — a journey of nearly 3,000 nautical miles following the trade winds towards Le Marin in Martinique.

They will all share the same goal: to experience something truly out of the ordinary, learn, challenge themselves and discover the magic of bluewater sailing.

CAREFUL PREPARATION BEFORE DEPARTURE

Before heading out to catch the trade winds, the catamaran underwent thorough technical preparation: a complete rigging inspection, electronics updates, sail checks and engine servicing. Nothing is left to chance when preparing to cross the Atlantic safely.

Provisioning aboard “TEN” is handled with the same level of care. The trainees are actively involved in managing supplies, organising meals and planning water and energy consumption. The goal is to ensure autonomy and balance throughout several weeks at sea.

HYÈRES – CANARY ISLANDS – CARIBBEAN: A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE

They have already cast off from Hyères and are heading for the Canary Islands, where “TEN” will make one final stop before the main crossing. From there, a new crew will head out across the Atlantic towards the Caribbean, carried by the trade winds.

This crossing is far more than a simple delivery passage. It is a learning experience and a human adventure, where a shared passion for the sea becomes part of everyday life on board.
