BALI Catspace: our interior design inspiration for a coastal atmosphere
What if we shared some of our interior design ideas for creating a space inspired by the sea? For the new edition of the BALI Catspace, unveiled as a world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival, we imagined an interior that feels warm, bright and natural. An atmosphere that is easy to recreate, both on board and at home, simply by playing with colours, materials and a few carefully selected decorative pieces. Our starting point? The tones already present inside the Catspace: terracotta and cognac seating, dark wood and plenty of natural light. We paired them with soft lagoon greens, ecru and sandy shades, complemented by a variety of textured materials. Cushions, ceramics, textiles, woven placemats… Here are a few ideas and tips for recreating this contemporary coastal atmosphere, without relying on traditional nautical décor.
Choose a natural palette with Mediterranean accents
Our first tip: take inspiration from the surroundings. On board the Catspace, the sea and natural light are ever-present, so we chose a colour palette that naturally echoes them.
Sand and ecru tones bring brightness, while touches of lagoon green create a connection with the outdoors. Terracotta and cognac add warmth and character to the overall décor.
The key is to keep the base relatively neutral and introduce colour through small touches: a cushion, a ceramic pitcher, a plate or a vase.
Play with textures and materials
To add depth to an interior without overwhelming it, texture is essential. We opted for textured cushions, bouclé fabrics, woven details and organically shaped ceramics.
On the table, ceramic plates are paired with woven placemats and textured napkins. A few decorative objects complete the setting with simplicity.
Mixing textures creates a warmer atmosphere while preserving the sense of space and lightness that is so important on board a catamaran.
Choose a few statement pieces rather than too many accessories
In an open space like the BALI Catspace, there is no need to fill the interior with decorative objects. A few carefully chosen pieces are enough to create an atmosphere.
An organically shaped vase, an elegant pitcher, a shell-inspired bowl or a few candle holders can personalise the space while keeping the overall look refined and uncluttered.
